A passionate chef, Yetunde Bolarin, created a range of ready meals to introduce the UK consumer to African recipes.
Food has always been a central, unifying factor in African communities. When food is served it feels more like a party with everyone welcome.
In our discovery session we showed Yetunde the Google image search with the words "Africa' and "food", the results nearly brought her to tears. It was clear that UK consumer's perception was far from her experience. Images of malnutrition rather than the community party atmosphere that surrounds African mealtimes.
Our mission then changed from selling ready meals to transforming the perception of African food.
The brand went on to attain listings in Booths.
